Hello! Welcome once again to the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop! I look forward to writing these blogs each month and hopping with the other ladies on the Inkin’ Krew, there is a lot of talent that you will see throughout the hop and the ladies making the cards are just as great, we truly have the best Krew. This month’s theme is “Celebrate” The card that I made this time round is a Birthday card. I find it sometimes hard to make winter Birthday cards and I had to use another stamp set to say what I wanted to convey but I was pretty happy with how it turned out in the end.

I started out with a card base in Misty Moonlight 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. I then cut a panel of Basic White. To be honest, I don’t know exactly how wide it is as I just used the embossing folder as a guide. This folder is part of a set of 2 called Wintry 3D and they are sized to be compatible for the mini machine. I embossed the panel and then cut the width to fit the entire embossed part. After that I sized the length to 5 1/4. I adhered that to the card base with Stampin’ Seal.

To add a little bit of fancy I used the border die from the Frosted Gingerbread Bundle. Since this is a more intricate die, I used liquid glue and placed a dot on each of the bigger spots on it. For the sparkle, I cut the snowflakes out of the silver foil specialty paper using the So Many Snowflakes dies, and I adhered those to the card front with mini Dimentionals. For each one I placed a rhinestone basic jewel in the middle.

My favorite part of the card, is the sentiment. I had decided I wanted to use this coordinating set of stamps and dies, but it didn’t have a birthday sentiment. Then, I saw the “May your season sparkle” stamp and I said, I bet I can find a different stamp that would go perfectly with this. I did! I used the a wish for everything stamp-set. I cut the words “birthday” and “may” out using scissors and viola! It now says May your birthday sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I know you will enjoy what the rest of the Krew has made. Happy Stamping!
