Sharing is caring!

Hello, we are hopping again! I always have such fun with these hops. The Inkin’ Krew is at it again this time with a “love” theme. So I made a card using some of the items from the new catalog that just went live on the 4th! This card is full of texture and I tried to capture all of it in the photos. This could be used to give to your Valentine, or for an Anniversary.

To start off, I used a card base of Basic White, you can’t really see it, but I assure you its there behind the pearlescent specialty paper. This was cut at 8 1/2 x 11 and scored a 4 1/4. I chose to use the landscape orientation on this because the focal piece is so large. Next I used a panel of Pearlescent specialty paper sized 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and glued it over the whole front of the card base using liquid glue.

Next I created the embossed panel. I used the pearlescent specialty paper again but this time it was cut to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4. I ran it through the Cut N Emboss machine in the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder to get that really neat texture that you see. This folder has a heart in the middle, but since the flower image I used was nice and large, it covered the whole thing so I didn’t have to worry about it. For the mat I used Basic White and cut it to 3 3/4 x 5.

For this beautiful flower image, I used the largest stamp from the Blessings of Home stamp set and inked it on Fresh Freesia cardstock using versamark ink. Whenever you want to heat emboss something versamark is the way to go. I then sprinkled white embossing powder over it and grabbed my heat embossing tool. You can see that by using the embossing technique on this stamp it gives a nice dotty texture to the stamp. To cut it out I used the coordinating die from the bundle ensuring to stick it down a bit with a post-it so it didn’t wiggle around in the machine.

For the last piece, the sentiment, I used the phrase from the Love and Happiness Stampset and the die from the cordinating bundle. For this, I stamped it first then ran it through to cut. The sentiment and the flower image are affixed with Stampin’ Dimentionals. For a finishing touch I used the metallic dots. I hope you enjoyed the card I made and I know you will like what the rest of the Krew has made. Happy Stamping!
