Welcome! I am so excited to once again be part of the Inkin‘ Krew Blog hop! I can’t believe this is my 3rd one! Stay tuned as I continue to learn about blogging, and you’ll start seeing more and more from me! This month for the hop, we are all highlighting cards with the “Celebrating Spring” Theme, and I used the beautiful papers from the Fine Art Floral suite.
To begin I used a card base in Whisper White* and cut Mossy Meadow card stock to mat my background papers. I then cut the Fine Art Floral DSP and the Designer Acetate at the same time to ensure they coordinated correctly. The acetate had a backing so I was sure to peel that off before cutting which made things a little easier.
To glue the Acetate to the Designer Series Paper, I used glue dots and my Stamp n Seal, I used a generous amount where I knew I was going to place my sentiment and then chose specific spots that would camouflage the glue dots throughout the gold floral pattern. After they were put together, I used liquid glue to adhere it to the mat. For my sentiment I used the “welcome”from the Welcoming Window stamp set, and the ”spring” and floral image are from the Make a Difference stamp set. I inked these in Balmy Blue.
I used metallic specialty paper I had left over from the Aug-Dec mini catalog for the back of the sentiment, and I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut both layering pieces out. I used Stampin’ Dimentionals to put these on to give it a little depth. Finally I used liquid glue to place the whole thing onto the card base and added two blue gems for a finishing touch. Thanks for taking a look! I know you will enjoy what the rest of the Krew made as well.
