Hello! Here we are with another rendition of the Inkin’ Krew blog hop! For this month the theme was Halloween Fun. I had a bit of a struggle at first trying to figure out what I wanted to make because I don’t actually have a current Halloween set. I decided to really look at what I do have and think outside the box. I found this awesome paper from the Host paper set in the Annual catalog that reminds me of beetle juice and the rest sprung from there.

To begin, I used a panel of Shaded Spruce and cut it to 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2. After that, I adhered a panel of the host DSP set with liquid glue. I then cut my shirt and suit accessories with the Suit and Tie Dies. I used Gorgeous Grape cardstock for the shirt and black for the suit. I chose these colors because they reminded me of the Joker from batman. Not sure if that’s really Halloween or not, but its fun anyway!

The last panel I cut out of Pumpkin Pie cardstock using the stitched rectangle dies, and I stamped the sentiment from the “A Wish for Everything” stamp set which has all sorts of different sayings for all occasions.

To put all the pieces together I used liquid glue. I thought there was enough texture with the suit that it didn’t need dimensionals, but since I love them so much, I just had to use them on something so I put them on the panel of Pumpkin Pie just to give it a little pop, and there you have it!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my take on a Halloween card and that it inspires you to look at what you have and see if you can use it in a new way. I know you will enjoy what the rest of the Krew has made and that they will inspire your creativity as well, happy hopping!

What a great idea, Jillian! Perfect Halloween colors and the perfect DSP. I thought of Vincent Price (and no, I’m not that old…I just like classic movies).
