Sharing is caring!

Hello Everyone! Can you believe its October already? Its Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop day and Today’s blog hop theme is ”Give thanks”. The card that I have for you today uses two different stamp sets, Stampin’ Up! Charming Sentiments, and Stampin’ Up! Amazing Silhouettes.

This fall card was inspired by a fellow member on the hop Karen Ksenzakovic. She made a beautiful card a little while back with a similar layout for a sketch challenge, and I just changed the sets and colors around. I love how a card layout doesn’t have to be complicated or overly embellished to be beautiful. All the cardstock colors and cuts are listed at the bottom of the page.

To create the multi-colored effect on the tree image here, I used something called the baby wipe technique. This is where you take your ink refills, and drip them on top of a baby wipe, let them sit a bit to spread out, and then used the baby wipe like an ink pad. You can save your baby wipe to use later, but they do dry out pretty quickly. If you really need it to work on the first try, I’d use a fresh new wipe.

I started out with a card base in Evening Evergreen, and then placed a panel of Textured Chic Designer Series Paper on top with liquid glue. I used the baby wipe technique to stamp the amazing silhouettes tree image on a panel of Basic white and matted it on a panel of Evening Evergreen. The Sentiment is from the Charming Sentiments stampset and was stamped in Evening Evergreen ink and then also matted on a piece of Evening Evergreen.

For the inside of my card, I used a panel of Basic White and stamped the leaves image from the Amazing Silhouettes stampset and the Thank you sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stampset. For the envelope, I used a panel of Textured Chic Designer Series Paper, the size I used was left over from a 6×6 piece of the DSP. I glued it down and then trimmed the envelope flap to meet it. For all of the layers except for the sentiment I used liquid glue, but for the sentiment I used Stampin’ Dimensionals.
