Sharing is caring!

Hello! Welcome to another Amy’s Inkin’ Krew blog hop day! The theme this month is "Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays" and we can interpret that any way that we want and use any products that we like for our projects. I made a card featuring the Stampin’ Up! Joyful Flurry stamp set bundle for the hop that has lots of pretty snowflakes! You will find a list of the card stock measurements all the way at the bottom of the post.

I love it when a new stamp set comes in the mail and this was one of the first cards I made with this set. I had to get it out and play with it. I stamped on the vellum with the Basic White ink and then went from there grabbing different things from my stash until it sort of developed. To start out I used an A2 sized card base in Basic White.

Next, I took Starry Sky ink and the medium snowflake from the Joyful Flurry stampset and stamped somewhat randomly around the front of the card. I knew that the panel was going to cover the middle, so I didn’t worry about that empty spot. Then, I took a panel of starry sky card stock and cut it out using the largest of the color and contours dies. To give it a little bit of something extra, I took the largest snowflake stamp and placed it strategically in 3 spots that I knew were likely to be seen.

After that, I took my vellum and stamped the other medium sized snowflake twice with Basic White ink. I cut those out with the coordinating dies and I was on my way. To adhere these pieces to the card front, I mostly used liquid glue. The only exceptions were, the middle of the vellum snowflakes where I placed a glue dot, and then also I popped the sentiment up with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The middle of the card front took a bit of finesse. I used the large snowflake die, but it doesn’t cut the snowflake out, it only imprints it onto your cards stock. So I used the die on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and then cut the circle out with the Stylish Shapes die. To add texture I was sure to fold the pop out pieces.

For the sentiment, I just took a small scrap and stamped ”Let it snow” as straight as I could. I them used my paper trimmer to cut on either side so I had an even rectangle around the words. After that I used scissors to cut angles on either side of it. The finishing touch to make these snowflakes really sparkle were the Basic Rhinestones Gems. I put one in the center of each of the snowflakes to highlight them.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I hope you enjoyed my card. I know you will love what the rest of the Krew has in store for you!
